The city of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon is the perfect place to meet; a city where 24% of its GDP comes from a highly diversified manufacturing industry and with an export volume of 38 billion dollars – with the automotive, household appliance, and power generation equipment sectors accounting for almost a tenth of the national total. The manufacturing industry by far provides the most jobs at the state level: almost 57,000 jobs, more than twice as many as commerce.
Thanks to an increase in vaccinations, the state of Nuevo Leon will soon be considered to be in the green light according to the national COVID “traffic light” system. The rest of the country, will follow which gives us great expectations for success of FABTECH Mexico 2022 with the country on the path to pre-pandemic social and economic levels.
In recent days, the Global Index of Economic Activity in Mexico for the month of August was released, and compared to the previous month of July, showed slight growth in the industrial sector of 0.4%, but in Nuevo Leon, it was 2.2%.
Thus, the state’s 151,000 businesses are ready and prepared to meet challenge of recovery. Nuevo León, although allied with the federal government, implemented a plan to open economic sectors gradually. For months, state authorities and society progressed in phases in which the state’s labor force grew until reaching the current levels of 1.7 million people. 50% of the state’s GDP was generated during this Critical Phase, Nuevo León has now passed 80% to reach close to 100% of the GDP thanks to the activity sustained by four million citizens who have returned to their social and work activities leading the state to the threshold of the so-called new normal.
Nuevo León has recently activated key sectors such as manufacturing, transportation, financial services, wholesale and retail trade, as well as construction. Services related to real estate, tourism, and hospitality have returned and are close to pre-pandemic levels, while recreation is strongly reactivated with business events and concerts.
Undoubtedly the time has come to witness once again the drive and strength of Nuevo Leon and the great opportunities that FABTECH Mexico 2022 represents where leading companies exhibit and suppliers, buyers and experts will be able to exchange experiences and knowledge in the best way: face to face.
